Methamphetamine is a powerful stimulant that has been
causing more and more trouble in the past thirty years. While the drug has been around for nearly one hundred years,
most of the meth being abused today is manufactured in highly toxic, unsafe
“meth labs” and the product is called “crystal meth”.
Crystal Meth is made of highly volatile, toxic substances that are melded in differing combinations, forming what some have described as a "mix of laundry detergent and lighter fluid."
The effects can come on rapidly, depending on the route of administration and last for 8 to 10 hours.
Meth stimulates the central nervous system and induces wakefulness, reduces appetite, and can, in high doses cause paranoid delusions and insanity.
